Getting started
New to Campus Mitra? Here's the shortest path from sign-up to using everything the platform offers.
- Create your account at /signup using your campus email and a strong password.
- Verify your email with the 6-digit code we send you. The code expires in 15 minutes — request a new one from the same screen if needed.
- Pick your campus from the chip in the top bar of your dashboard. You can switch any time without losing data.
- Explore the modules — Forum, Map, Kart, Essentials, Events, and Chill Spots — from the quick-access cards on your dashboard.
Tip: Press ⌘K (or Ctrl+K on Windows) anywhere on the dashboard to jump to the search bar.
Account & sign-in
I forgot my password
Head to /forgot-password, enter your email, and you'll receive a 6-digit reset code. The code is valid for 15 minutes and a single attempt.
Sign in with Google isn't working
Make sure you complete the Google consent screen in the same browser tab. If you see “Access blocked”, the Google account isn't in our test list yet — write to us and we'll add it. If you see a network error, try again in a different browser; ad blockers occasionally block the OAuth redirect.
I'm getting “Too many sign-in attempts”
For security we lock out accounts after several failed sign-ins from the same IP or email. The lockout clears automatically after 15 minutes. If you're still locked out, reset your password — a successful reset clears the counter immediately.
How do I delete my account?
From your account settings, choose Delete account. We anonymise your profile and purge personal data within 30 days. Some records (transactions, audit logs) are retained for legal compliance — see our Privacy Policy for details.
Email verification & OTPs
Verification codes are 6 digits, valid for 15 minutes, and tied to a single device session.
I never got the code
- Check your spam, promotions, and updates folders. Add no-reply@campusmitra.app to your contacts.
- College mail servers sometimes hold mail for review for up to 10 minutes — wait, then check again before requesting a new code.
- Use the Resend code link on the verify-email screen. We rate-limit resends to one per minute.
The code says “invalid or expired”
Request a fresh code. Old codes stop working the moment a new one is sent. Make sure you're entering the most recent code from the email subject line.
Campuses & switching
Your dashboard is scoped to a single campus at a time — announcements, listings, events, and forum threads all reflect the active campus.
How do I switch campuses?
Click the campus chip in the top bar (desktop) or open the navigation drawer (mobile). Pick a new campus and the entire dashboard refetches without a page reload. The choice is saved to your profile and follows you across devices.
My campus isn't listed
We're onboarding institutions in waves. Email partnerships@campusmitra.app with your college name and we'll prioritise it on the roadmap.
Marketplace & transactions
Campus Kart is a peer-to-peer marketplace for students. We don't hold inventory or process every transaction — read the listing, talk to the counterparty, and meet in a public campus spot.
A buyer or seller is unresponsive
Use the Report action on the listing or chat thread. We'll review within 48 hours and may temporarily suspend the account. If the listing is paid and undelivered, contact support@campusmitra.app with the order reference.
What can't I list?
- Weapons, controlled substances, and counterfeit goods.
- Anything that violates campus policies — exam papers, ghost-writing, ID cards.
- Stolen property, items you don't have rights to sell.
- Adult content or services.

Forum & community
Why was my post removed?
Posts are removed when they violate our community guidelines — harassment, hate speech, doxxing, spam, or impersonation. You should receive a notification with the specific reason. If you disagree, reply to the notification and a human moderator will re-review within 72 hours.
How do I report a post?
Click the three-dot menu on the post and choose Report. Choose the closest reason and add context if helpful. Reports are anonymous to the post author.
Payments & refunds
Most core features of Campus Mitra are free. Where payments apply — premium business listings, paid events, or marketplace transactions — they're processed by our payment partners (Razorpay, Stripe). We don't store full card numbers.
I was charged but didn't get the service
Email support@campusmitra.app with the transaction reference and a screenshot. We'll investigate within 48 hours and issue a refund where appropriate. Bank settlements typically reflect within 5–7 business days.
How do I get an invoice?
Go to Settings → Billing. All paid transactions have a downloadable PDF invoice with GST details where applicable.
Safety & trust
Your safety is the only thing we won't compromise on. If you feel threatened on or off the platform:
- Use the Block action on the user's profile to cut off all contact.
- Report immediately to trust@campusmitra.app — our trust team is staffed 9 AM–11 PM IST, every day.
- For physical safety emergencies, call 112 (India's integrated emergency number) before contacting us.
If you receive a phishing email claiming to be from Campus Mitra, forward it to security@campusmitra.app and don't click any links. We never ask for your password over email or chat.
Privacy & your data
You can export, correct, or delete your data at any time from account settings. Specific rights and timelines are documented in our Privacy Policy.
- Data export: Settings → Privacy → Download my data. The archive arrives by email within 24 hours.
- Account deletion: Settings → Account → Delete account. The request is irreversible; data is purged within 30 days.
- Privacy questions: email privacy@campusmitra.app and we'll respond within 30 days.
Reporting a bug
We treat bug reports seriously. The faster you tell us, the faster we ship the fix.
- Email support@campusmitra.app with the subject [Bug] and a one-line summary.
- Include the page URL, your browser/device, and the exact steps to reproduce the issue.
- Attach a screenshot or screen recording if the bug is visual.
- Tell us what you expected to happen and what actually happened.
Suspect a security vulnerability? Email security@campusmitra.app instead — we acknowledge security reports within 24 hours and run a private disclosure programme for verified researchers.
